32 + 80 Channels
With the PocketWizard Plus Ve Transceiver’s 32 Flash Channels and 80 Long Range Camera Channels, finding an open Channel is easy. Photographers working in a busy environment, including wedding halls, sports arenas or busy studios, can dial in a channel as simply as pushing a button.
Hex-Zone Triggering
Selective Hex-Zone Triggering keeps you shooting photos, not running back and forth to your lighting or cameras. Without leaving the camera position, you can wirelessly activate or deactivate your remote flashes in 6 separately controllable zones: A, B, C, D, E or F. The Plus Ve has 5 separate zones for remote cameras: A, B, C, D, or E. This is ideal when using multiple lighting setups or turning remote cameras on and off as needed.
Auto-Sensing Transceiver Technology
With our patented Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology, the Plus Ve Transceiver is one smart radio. When set to TxRx, it will instantly and intelligently switch between transmitter and receiver modes as needed for greater flexibility on the job. The Plus Ve may be set to transmit (Tx) or receive (Rx) only when needed.
Two-Stage Remote Camera Triggering
The Plus Ve Transceiver is the perfect solution for remote camera triggering. To pre trigger your remote camera, simply half press the E Zone button and your remote Plus Ve will automatically wake up your remote camera and pre trigger it so it’s ready to shoot whenever you are. This feature requires a receiving Plus Ve, Plus IIIe, or Plus IVe, and ACC cables.
Auto-Relay Mode
Our Auto-Sensing Transceiver technology lets you trigger a remote camera in sync with remote flashes using only 3 PocketWizard radios: the one in your hands, a Plus Ve cabled to your remote camera, and another connected to your remote flash. The Plus Ve cabled to your remote camera will receive a radio signal and trigger the camera’s motor drive, then switch to transmit mode and trigger your PocketWizard-connected remote flashes, all automatically. Start the sequence by simply pressing the TEST button of the PocketWizard Transmitter in your hands. The remote camera will require the appropriate remote camera cable.
Long Range Capability
Under ideal conditions, the Plus Ve Transceiver works up to 500 meters (1600 feet). Shooting environments are seldom ideal, so the Plus Ve incorporates two range extending modes for the challenges of the real world. Use Long Range Mode (LR) to nearly double the effective triggering distance in almost any environment. In our testing, Long Range mode reached up to 6.4 kilometers (4 miles).
Simple User Interface
The Plus Ve has an intuitive user interface where all channels, zones and modes can be easily engaged via a soft-touch keypad, and displayed on an easy-to-read backlit color OLED display.
Sync Speed
Ultra-fast microprocessors allow for reliable sync speeds of 1/250 for focal plane shutters and 1/500 for leaf shutters.
Easy to Connect
On your camera, the Plus Ve slides into the hot shoe with no cables required. For your remotes, it features one do-it-all sync port. The industry-standard miniphone (3.5mm or 1/8″) connector is much more reliable than a PC connection. Miniphone connector cables are available for major brands of lighting equipment in a variety of lengths. Dedicated remote camera triggering cables are also available for popular camera systems.
E Release Compatible
The Plus Ve is compatible with all products using the E Release firmware protocol and frequency*. This includes PocketWizard Plus IIIe, Plus IVe, Power MC2, FlexTT5, and FlexTT6 radios that have been upgraded. It is also compatible with the Raven from Fusion TLC as well as Sekonic light meters that have been upgraded to the E Release firmware.
(*FCC and CE PocketWizard radios work on different frequencies)
Super Compact Size
The Plus Ve is our smallest PocketWizard yet! This radio has an unobtrusive, internal antenna protected in the unit itself so, there’s no chance to kink or break it when on location. The total height of the transceiver and antenna is only 3.5 inches, and it weighs 2.5 ounces, including battery. The hot shoe can be taken off to reveal the 1/4″-20 mounting thread and to condense the size even more. This is especially helpful if you are remotely triggering your camera and want to hide your transmitting radio in your hand.
Power
The Plus IVe uses a rechargeable 800 mAh Lithium-Ion battery that can run the Plus Ve for about 35 hours. The battery can be replaced by the consumer.
